SEO report ยท October 2026
Everything published for no domain scanned this month. Search performance appears once Google Search Console is connected โ no figures are estimated.
- 1
Create a free Google Search Console account
Open search.google.com/search-console and sign in with the Google account you want to keep your search data in โ the same one you use inside GeniusSEO.
It is free, there is no plan to choose, and it is the only place Google publishes your real clicks, impressions, ranking positions and click-through rate.
- 2
Add your website as a Domain property
Click 'Add property' and pick the left-hand option, 'Domain'.
Type your bare domain with no https:// and no www โ for example yoursite.com. A Domain property covers www, non-www, http and https and every subdomain, so you only ever set it up once.
The right-hand 'URL prefix' option also works, but it only covers the exact address you type, so you would need one property per variation.
- 3
Verify ownership with a TXT record
Google shows a single line that starts with google-site-verification=. Copy the whole line exactly, including that prefix, with no quotation marks.
Go to wherever your domain's DNS is managed โ if you bought the domain inside Lovable, open that project, then Settings โ Domains โ Configure โ Manage DNS records.
Add a new record of type TXT. Put @ in the Host field (leave it blank if @ is not accepted) and paste the copied line into the Value or Answer field. Leave TTL as it is.
Save or 'Add record', then return to Google and press Verify. DNS usually propagates in a few minutes; if Google says it cannot find the record, wait 15 minutes and press Verify again.
- 4
Submit your sitemap so Google finds new articles faster
In Search Console open Sitemaps in the left menu and submit sitemap.xml.
Every article GeniusSEO publishes to your site becomes a new URL in that sitemap, so Google discovers it without you doing anything else.
- 5
Connect the same Google account to GeniusSEO
Open the SEO Report tab in GeniusSEO while signed in. GeniusSEO asks Google for the list of properties your account owns and matches them to the website you scanned.
If your account owns more than one matching property, choose the right one from the property switcher โ your choice is remembered per website.

Wait for the first data, then read the report
Google needs 2โ3 days before the first numbers appear, and a brand new site can take a week or two to collect enough impressions to show anything.
Until then the report shows a dash instead of a number. GeniusSEO never invents or estimates search figures โ everything you see comes straight from Google.
Why does my report still show dashes?
Either the property is not verified yet, the connected Google account does not own it, or Google has not collected enough data. All three are normal in the first days.
My registrar asks me to log in during verification.
Skip Google's automatic registrar flow and choose the manual TXT record option instead. You never need registrar credentials for that route.
Can I use one Search Console account for several websites?
Yes. Add each site as its own property in the same Google account, and GeniusSEO will pick the right one for each website you scan.
Do I need Google Analytics too?
No. Search Console alone provides the ranking, click, impression and CTR data GeniusSEO reports on.
